My family and I immigrated to Canada in 1972. By 1976 we moved from Toronto to Oshawa after my parents bought their first house. That same year my father started his commercial, industrial and post construction cleaning company, Eldorado Cleaners Ltd. named after the street we moved to.

My father was the sole income provider for our family of seven. He worked long hours, all night in fact, cleaning everything from McDonald Restaurants to Vic Tanny Gyms to St. Mary’s Cement Co, a cement producing plant. In fact, our family maintained the contract with St. Mary’s Cement for 47 years and it’s where I started to learn the family business and professional cleaning at 12 years of age. My father taught me the art of cleaning and I quickly learned that much like any trade in the construction world, cleaning is a trade to be mastered.

He taught each of us the importance of honest, hard work, the importance of leaving customers happy with a clean space, regardless of what you’re cleaning and of course the ability to clean above customer expectations, while working quickly and professionally.

I’ve taken that love for clean spaces and the skills he taught me and opened MadEva Momma Cleaning. Like him who took something meaningful and named his business Eldorado Cleaners Ltd after the street he bought our first house on, I’ve named our business after our daughters; Madeleine and Eva (MadEva Momma).
